MILWAUKEE, WI — Two Milwaukee firefighters were taken to a local hospital after a stairwell collapsed from underneath in Brewer's Hill on Thursday, fire officials announced. The firefighters were injured while they were battling a house fire in the 2200 block of N. 1st street around 6:41 p.m., the Milwaukee Fire Department said in a statement. The firefighters were taken to the Froedtert Hospital emergency room with non-life-threatening injuries, officials added.
