MEDFORD, MA — Medford resident Mindy Miller has received a 2022 Leadership Award from Volunteers of America, a nonprofit that creates opportunities for individuals through residential and outpatient behavioral health treatment, re-entry for justice-involved individuals, veteran services, and senior living. According to the organization, the Leadership Awards are presented to those whose hard work, loyalty and dedication exemplify the highest ideals of the organization in one of four categories: administration, direct client services, ministry and program management. The national award recognizes Miller's work as Vice President for Integrated Services at Volunteers of America of Massachusetts (VOAMASS), where she oversees the integration of all behavioral health services throughout VOAMASS's outpatient, residential, and virtual care settings. "Mindy – thanks in part to her compassionate leadership style – is a shining example of the hardworking, dedicated and experienced staff across all of our programs," VOAMASS President and CEO Charles Gagnon said in a statement. "We're not only proud of her recognition, but we are grateful for the drive, passion and expertise she brings to work each and every day." Miller was presented the award at the Volunteers of America National Conference on June 7 in Las Vegas. She was nominated by Angela Eberle, a program director at VOAMASS, who cited Miller's steadfast response during the early months of the pandemic to ensure that individuals continued to have access to the highest level of care possible. "Mindy is known as the "go-to" person and problem solver in the agency," Eberle said in her recommendation of Miller. "[She] is in the trenches working diligently on the transformation of the agency; leading VOAMASS into a whole-person, integrated care model."
