Hello, everybody. I'm back in your inbox this morning to walk you through everything you need to know about what's happening these days in town. Let's do this... First, today's weather: Hot. High: 97 Low: 83. Here are the top three stories in New Orleans today: A task force has been assembled to study New Orleans' domestic abuse and domestic abuse facilities to try to identify patterns that could help the New Orleans Health Department combat the issue. The team is called DAFRT or Domestic Abuse Facility Review Team and will release an annual report with its findings. (WGNO New Orleans) Just after five juveniles escaped from the Bridge City Center for Youth on Thursday morning, a riot broke out at the facility around 10 p.m. on Thursday night involving a group of 20 juveniles who took over the facility for two hours. A SWAT team and a K9 unit were called and were ultimately able to regain control but not before one juvenile escaped. The youth has not been located and a total of three people were taken to the hospital for treatment as a result of the riot. (BRProud.com) Juneteenth is coming up and there are many places across New Orleans where you can celebrate and honor the holiday. The first ever Juneteenth festival and parade will commence at Louis Armstrong park at 2 p.m. Sunday followed by many other events, celebrations and galas throughout the day.
