Join Louisville Parks and Recreation Team: NOW HIRING | LouisvilleKY.gov With the support of sponsors, local sports legend Robbie Valentine will host another free 3-day youth basketball camp at the KFC YUM! Center. During this free camp geared toward youth of all skill levels, participants will learn the fundamentals of basketball as well as the principals of teamwork and individual responsibility. "I'm blessed to be able to come to work at the KFC Yum! Center, which I think is the best arena in the world, every day," Valentine said. "My goal is to give that same opportunity to kids whenever I can. They can come to the arena, learn about basketball, take home life lessons, and have some fun." In addition to learning skills on the court, several keynote speakers from the local basketball community will be in attendance to mentor campers and provide invaluable life skills. "Robbie has been a vital contributor to kids through the running of these camps and his various endeavors for more than two decades," said Mayor Greg Fischer. "Thousands of kids through two generations have attended Robbie's camps, and they've learned about basketball, healthy habits, how to be a good teammate, son and daughter, and productive member of the community. We are deeply appreciative of the partnership with Robbie and the sponsors who have made this program possible." The sports camp will take place from 5-8 p.m. June 27-29 and is open to youth ages 5-14.
