Here are the top three stories in Charleston today: The North Charleston Police Department is working on reducing traffic and speeding violations. The department will reportedly begin issuing citations instead of simply issuing warnings. The first summer traffic enforcement blitz will occur in the Wescott area with more areas planned throughout the summer. Slow down - don't get ticketed. (Live 5 News WCSC)The City of Charleston is considering a pilot program meant to record landlord information. The system will help the Public Safety Committee communicate with landlords to address livability issues that may arise. The committee wants to bring landlords into the discussion of fines for noise complaints, trash issues, and more. (WCBD News 2)Joint Base Charleston held a job fair on Jun. 15 called Hiring Our Heroes. More than 70 employers attended the fair. Participants were able to learn about various careers in STEM, aviation, supply chain logistics, and more.
