PROVIDENCE, RI — A man wanted on a murder charge in Providence was found hiding Thursday in Georgia, police said.
Members of the North Metro SWAT assisted the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Taskforce and the Fulton County Sheriff's office in arresting 36-year-old Robert Komhlan, police in Sandy Springs, Georgia said.
"The Sandy Springs Police Department is always happy to assist other agencies and will always do everything we can to keep crime out of Sandy Springs," police said.
According to WPRI.com, Komhlan was wanted in connection with the killing of 30-year-old Angelo Gomez outside the Wonderland Gentlemen's Club in Providence last April. Police told WPRI that an argument escalated between two local rival gangs inside the club when Komlan pulled up in an SUV and opened fire, striking Gomez.
Gomez was rushed to a local hospital, where he died a week later.
