WORCESTER, MA — A Leicester man charged in the death of a 5-year-old Worcester girl was arraigned Thursday on multiple charges, including motor vehicle homicide. During the arraignment, prosecutors spoke about multiple driving violations Christopher Remillard, 57, racked up over the years, including speeding, crosswalk violations and driving without a license, MassLive reported. Candice Asare-Yeboah was crossing Stafford Street in a crosswalk on April 18 when Remillard, who was driving an SUV, hit her and her mother. The pair were leaving a nearby salon after a shopping trip. Asare-Yeboah died on May 24. Her mother, Asha Nyarki Asare, was released from the hospital in early May after recovering from serious injuries. On top of the vehicular homicide charge, prosecutors have charged Remillard with speeding, failing to yield in a crosswalk, negligent operation and marked lane violations, according to court records. A Worcester District Court judge on Thursday ordered Remillard held pending $1,000 bail.
