RIVERHEAD, NY — A family in Riverhead is searching desperately for their missing dog — and the good Samaritan who they believe tried to bring him home.
According to Alex Garcia, his chihuahua Junior, just a year old and tiny, went missing on June 6. Junior went outside as usual with the family's other dog at their house, located on Northville Turnpike near Roanoke Avenue –but didn't come back.
Junior escaped the yard, his collar was off, and he is believed to have been found in the woods nearby.
Then, Garcia believes, a good Samaritan, captured on his doorbell camera, came to return Junior — but his daughter was home sick and by the time someone got to the door, the woman and Junior were gone.

"The family is devastated and wants him back desperately," friend Jacqueline Canale-Buscemi, who is helping with rescue efforts, said. "We have people helping – but so far, no luck."
