I need a home for my dog Hero. My husband passed away and the people I am renting from don't aloow pets due to their free range ducks, chickens etc. Hero is currently being fostered in Rathdrum by an elderly couple where I go walk her twice a day. She is an 8 year old Husky, Shepherd, Pit Mix, weighs 70 lbs, and is spayed, and UTD on rabies and distemper vaccines. She would do great with a homeschool family with children over 8 years old, an active retired couple, or someone who works from home. She tends to get depressed and stops eating if she is left alone over 8 hours a day, every day. She isn't bad with young children, she just tends to want to hide from them. She can be alone on rare occasions for up to 11 hours. She could do okay with a cat (has been around new cats recently) or a calm older dog, but she is possessive of her toys and food. People can take away her food but she will snap at other animals getting close. She is mostly an inside dog, but enjoys being in a fenced yard, especially if you are outside too. She does not get up on furniture or chew things up. I am willing to continue paying for any vet bills that might arise in the future. She needs a fenced yard and loves walks and playing with her ball.
