Rehoming bonded pair of 2 year old tabbies

Description

These two bonded in foster care. They’re vaccinated and healthy, as well as neutered/spayed. The white/gray male lost his front leg in a car accident three months before I adopted him. He is a little shy, but warms up fast. He loves flopping over for belly rubs, and loves being brushed. The female tabby-calico has a bolder personality. She greets every new person by insisting to sniff their faces. She is amazing at the vet. Her last visit, she was very docile, didn’t cry, try to run, bite, or scratch. They’re both really gentle cats in general. They both like being held for short periods of time. The female will lay on your lap or chest, but the male tends to just sit next to me, or under the blankets. I have a lot of *new* things like a stainless steel water fountain with filters, and a scratching post that I’d be happy to include. I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. These two are great cats. It hurts to break my commitment to them, but my life took an unexpected turn when my partner sustained a back injury at work that is going to require surgery, and a long road to recovery to follow. I’m his only physically present support system in Denver. He’s out of work and is on disability, but it’s not enough to make ends meet. I’m moving in with him, and I wish I could take them with me but both cats are fearful of dogs, and it wouldn’t be fair to keep them all in a one bedroom anyway. On top of working full time, and going back to school full time at the end of the year. I’m trying to do the right thing; they deserve a guardian that has more time to commit to them.
