Free to good home puppy wanted for therapy dog training

I’ve been checking the “free to good home” ads here and they all seem to have a “rehoming fee” in the range of I am not looking for a puppy for sale that calls it rehoming. I am looking for a true situation where you need to find a good home and cannot care for the pup but you have put out $ for shots, supplies, etc and would like to recoup some of those costs. My daughter is in need of a therapy dog so I’m looking for a breed like a lab, poodle, etc that is known for taking a special interest in their owner and we can have trained to become a therapy dog for her. I am not in a position to pay hundreds of dollars for a pup as the therapy dog training itself is $200. I’d be open to a therapy/service dog that you may no longer need.
