Description
We are needing to rehome our 1 yr old Rottie/Cane Corso mix female.
We live on a country road that I cannot fence and she continues to chase bicycles and passersby on the road, despite my best efforts to train her to stay in the yard. Her sister has excellent recall- she does have decent recall herself when she decides she wants to! But given her energy and drive, I am concerned she is going to get hurt or hurt someone on the road. Tethering makes her absolutely miserable. E-collars work with her just fine, when I remember to put it on her and watch her closely. She is on the nervous/fearful side as dogs of her breeds tend to be, and very independent.
It is my hope there is a family out there who can embrace her for who she is, and can take her on long, leashed walks or a fenced yard or enough room to run far away from a road. She is excellent with young kids, dogs, tiny kittens to adult cats, bunnies, goats, baby birds, ducks, and chickens. Maybe not let her play with bunnies unsupervised or be around territorial pigs, but otherwise she lives just fine with everyone.
She is crate trained and goes out 3x a day to run, etc. She is not leash trained, however. I don't have a great picture of her face, but you get the idea!
If you are interested, please let me know. I am not trying to "sell" our girl on this or any platform, but I need to know you will be able to take care of her as she is right at 100 lbs and needs XL of everything. She has food sensitivities so I never feed her just dry dog food- it makes her fur fall out. I will drive her to a mutually-agreed upon place for you to meet her, and if you take her home with you I will ask for 30.00 to cover gas. Email or text is fine. Thanks!
