Looking for a reason to come out of unofficial retirement, and wanted to gauge interest before dipping the toes back in the water. Guitarist/vocalist looking for like-minded folks who have a strong affinity for the raw, visceral soul-enriching music of the late 60s. Mamas and Papas, Santana, Guess Who, CS&N, Jefferson Airplane, Sly and Family Stone, James Brown, Hendrix, Steppenwolf, the Who, Allman Bros, Dave Brubek, Byrds, Cream, Canned Heat, etc. Audience-oriented, feel-good material, mostly.
Looking for a down-to-earth family affair... a place to call a musical home, where I can hang my proverbial hat. Joining forces with an established band is a possible option, but I would prefer to build this from the ground up, where everyone has equal footing.
Been a while since last played this era of music, and re-learning the material would be a pretty big commitment. But one I'd be willing to make in the right situation, with the right combination of people.
