Museum In Mind is back as an in-person program! Designed for individuals with early-stage memory loss or dementia and their caregivers, Museum In Mind includes an artwork discussion and related art-making activity at the Museum. We will focus on the theme of identity by exploring artworks in the current exhibition Many Wests: Artists Shape an American Idea. Participants will observe and discuss artworks by artists Wendy Red Star, Christina Fernandez, Ka’ila Farrell-Smith, and Angel Rodríguez-Díaz to explore how different artists celebrate identity. After a snack break, participants will head to the art studio to create identity collages inspired by the artworks in Many Wests.
Registration includes both the participant and their caregiver. There are 8 spots available with a max of 16 people with caregivers.
This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as the Fund Three Pines Foundation and KBF Canada.
