Mt Baker Products is a premier manufacturer of decorative plywood used for cabinetry, furniture and interiors throughout North America. Our company uses veneers like cherry, walnut and oak to produce high end panels for the woodworking industry. The Press Helper Utility position puts assembled panels into presses where the glue permanently bonds the layers of wood into a panel, then unloads the presses at the completion of the cycle. This job is key to having products made from our quality panels that will be enjoyed for many years in peoples' homes and businesses. Work schedule: Day Shift (5:00 am to 2:00 pm), Mon-Fri; overtime potential, including Saturdays. Job Duties/Responsibilities - Load press at a productive pace to ensure panels do not dry; - Blow off panels using pneumatic air tools in tandem with another press helper; - Clean press to ensure there is no build-up or residual debris; - Use conveyers to move plywood to pre-press and hot press; - Work closely with Quality Control (QC) team to ensure product meets established standards; report any quality or productivity concerns to QC Department. Qualifications: - Must be at least 18 years of age; - No experience is necessary; we will train. Previous experience in work requiring continuous movement/exertion is helpful, such as custodial, landscaping, construction or package delivery; - Ability to work safely while meeting productivity requirements; ability to wear PPE, as assigned; - Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment; - Ability to stand for long periods on a raised/lowered platform; - Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly; - Ability to work overtime, including on weekends.
