You are cordially invited to attend a mixer that will benefit the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine. Join us for a cocktail mixer overlooking the Linwood Country Club. Please dress summer casual for the reception under the festive tent overlooking the golf course. Mingle and meet South Jerseys most influential while we support local organizations and party with a purpose. Marine Mammal Stranding Center opened in 1978 and is a life saving center for endangered marine species. The center has sea animals like whales, dolphins, seals and turtles. Apart from saving marine mammals and curing them, the center also has a sea life museum. The museum has all information about marine mammals and also has an educational center that provides training on marine ecosystem. Tour around to find out about how they function to save the sea animals and also get a chance to see live seals, turtles and fishes The MMSC has responded to over 5,780 animals since opening in 1978. In the early years, the Center worked with approximately 20 animals in a year. In the last five years, we average 180 animals annually. In 2013, we saw our busiest year with 292 animals, with most being bottlenose dolphins from a mass die-off. In 2019, the Center had responded to 11 large whales, which is the most we’ve had in one year.
