We invite radio operators from Upland, Rancho Cucamonga and surrounding areas to participate in three planned events. 6:00pm-6:30pm, we will conduct training on the Winlink system.6:30pm-7:00pm, we will demonstrate Winlink peer-to-peer messaging.7:00pm-7:05pm, we will join with the Tri-City ACS group to hear their VHF repeater net preamble and switch to their UHF simplex net.7:05pm-7:30pm, we will join with the Tri-City ACS group to participate in their UHF simplex net.7:30pm-8:00pm, we will participate in an EchoLink chat.To join us, your family, friends and co-workers, we ask that you come to either San Antonio Park, 2393 N Mountain Ave, Upland, CA 91784 or Heritage Community Park, 5546 Beryl St, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91737 "Hams" have been instrumental in disaster and emergency service work for over 100 years. In the U.S., "hams" can be found in burn areas, flood zones and areas of high wind damage such as tornadoes and hurricanes. Currently, Polish "hams" are communicating immigration status reports of Ukranian refugees to their families and loved ones in the west. "Hams" bring the adage, "When all else fails, ham radio works" to life. Come out to a park near you, pack some snacks and a blanket or chair and learn how you can become a neighbor helping an neighbor "when all else fails..." Tickets are not required.
