Sterling House Community Center teams with Health Care Advocates International to host Love is Love: An Evening of Pride at the Bijou Theatre in Bridgeport, CT on June 21. The FREE cabaret experience oscillates between the personal vignettes and love songs weaving a story of self-acceptance and self-love, demonstrating that acceptance and love can spread to those around us. The first half of the performance will explore songs from modern musicals and beyond to the scores of up-and-coming musical in development Love is Love is Love: The Musical. Written by New York based singer/songwriter, Michelle Lee (she/her) and recently debuted at Feinstein's/54 Below, Love is Love is Love: The Musical is a contemporary musical follows leaders who are invited to an event in New York City to speak about their lives in the public eye. None of them are prepared for what comes next. As their stories unfold, the details of their lives emerge, unveiling the truth hidden behind the shiny digital facades they've been displaying to the world. The story dives right into the issues at the core of the human experience, while the diverse cast of characters transform each performance into a heartfelt confessional. The show is produced by Connecticut and New York based artist, Ariana Valdes (she/her/they), current Artistic Director of the Ensign-Darling Vocal Fellowship New Voices at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, CT. Music Director Evan Swanson will accompany the performance. Guest Performers include: Steven Charles, Darren Cementina, Raishowna Collins, Andrew Gryniewicz, Sydney Caso, and Arielle Sussman. Following the performance, Sterling House and Title Sponsor, Health Care Advocates International, will host a Q&A to honor important advocacy issues affecting the gay community. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served by farm to table caterer An EP Experience. Doors open at 6pm. Parking is located across the street from the Bijou Theatre, 275 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
