GARFIELD, NJ — A Garfield man and a Paterson man were arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killing of 26-year-old John DeLeon, who was gunned down in a parking lot off Victor Street in Lodi, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said in a news release. Both suspects, along with a third man, also from Paterson, were arrested on additional weapons and drug-related charges after a search of multiple residences yielded narcotics and firearms, the prosecutor's office said. Giovanni Feliciano, of Garfield, and Jefersson Gonzalez, of Paterson, who are both suspected of murder, were remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending their first court appearances. Elvis DeJesus, 24, of Paterson, was remanded to the Passaic County Jail pending his first court appearance, the prosecutor's office said. Feliciano was arrested and charged with first-degree murder; first-degree conspiracy to commit murder; first-degree possession of a handgun while having a prior conviction; first-degree possession with the intent to distribute cocaine; second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose; second-degree possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, oxycodone and marijuana; third-degree money laundering; third-degree theft by knowingly receiving moveable property; third-degree possession with the intent to distribute Xanax, oxycodone, cocaine and heroin; third-degree possession of Xanax; fourth-degree possession of a large capacity magazine; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense, the prosecutor's office said. Gonzalez was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, second-degree possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, third-degree theft by knowingly receiving moveable property, and fourth-degree possession of a large capacity magazine, the prosecutor's office said. DeJesus was arrested and charged with second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, second-degree possession of a firearm with the intent to distribute marijuana, second-degree possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, and fourth-degree possession of a large capacity magazine, the prosecutor's office said.
