Description
Press release from the City of South San Francisco:
June 15, 2022
South San Francisco Library is pleased to offer Know-How Kits to aid caregivers and families with engaging adult learners with developmental disabilities at home. The Know-How Kits are theme based and provide tools, activities and games to teach independent living skills, money management, healthy eating, problem solving, time management, reading and writing. A collection of books is also available to spark discussion about the various topics. These kits are intended to keep adults active at home with the coaching of a caregiver.
We are still amid a pandemic and these kits provide opportunities for bringing the library into the home to safely learn necessary independent living skills.
Check out a kit at the Main Library, 840 W. Orange Ave. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
Kits can only be checked out at the South San Francisco Main Library and must be returned to the service desk of the Main Library.
This project was made possible by a Pacific Library Partnership Innovation Grant.
