MORGAN, VT — A man from the capital region was arrested on Thursday after a crash in Vermont, according to state police. Around 11:15 p.m., Vermont State Police were told of a crash on Route 114 in Morgan. The driver James Butler, 49, of Pembroke, New Hampshire, was driving a 2005 GMC truck south on the highway when he was accused of crashing into a utility pole. "Troopers observed Butler displaying signs and indicators of impairment," Trooper Richard Berlandy of the Vermont State Police said. "After a subsequent investigation, troopers arrested Butler for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and transported him to the Derby Barracks for processing." Butler, Berlandy said, was later released on a citation. He is due in court on June 28. Both VT Electric Co-op and Greniers Towing responded to assist state police. Got a news tip?
