District 202 Staff Members Appointed Assistant Principals

PLAINFIELD, IL — Two Plainfield School District 202 staff members are moving up in the district to become assistant principals. The Board of Education appointed Tracy Beneventi and Ethan Buege to serve as assistant principals at Plainfield Academy and Ira Jones Middle School, respectively, during its regular meeting Monday. In the coming year at Plainfield Academy, Beneventi will replace Karyn Holstead, who has been appointed the school's new principal. Beneventi is among the educators who opened Plainfield Academy in 2002, having served as a special education teacher there for 20 years. Having spent her entire career in alternative education, according to district officials, Beneventi has also served as the Chicago Area Alternative Education League's coordinator and coach for 18 years. Buege, on the other hand, is new to District 202. The educator will start working as the assistant principal for student services at the Plainfield school district after most recently serving as an assistant principal at Long Beach Elementary School in Oswego's District 308. Buege has several years of experience working as an assistant principal — he also worked in the same role at Indian Trail Elementary School in Highland Park. According to district officials, he started his career as a middle school science and social studies teacher in Naperville and Summit. At Ira Jones Middle School, Buege will replace Catie Peterson, who will move to Timber Ridge Middle School to serve as principal, district officials said.
