MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Maple Grove High school baseball team was only a few outs away from playing in Friday night's Class AAAA state title game but finished the tournament in fourth place. Maple Grove took down St. Louis Park 5-2 on Tuesday at CHS Field in St. Paul to reach the semifinal round, where the team lost 7-5 to Farmington across two days. The Crimson jumped out to an early 5-0 lead over Farmington on Thursday, after the game was postponed Wednesday due to rain and lightning while it was still scoreless in the second inning. Maple Grove Junior Wins 2 Titles At State Track And Field Meet Farmington scored three times in the fourth inning to cut into Maple Grove's lead before a grand slam in the sixth inning put Farmington ahead, according to the Minnesota State High School League.
