Press release from the Dakota County Government: June 17, 2022 Kari Switala was appointed to the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board as a new member representing the private sector. The Dakota County Board of Commissioners approved the appointment June 7. Switala is chief creative officer and owner of Wild Fig Marketing where she oversees business operations and manages marketing strategies for clients. Switala attended Lakeville High School and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Previously, she worked as a marketing director for an accounting firm and was the membership director of the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce. "I am passionate about small business and helping connect individuals within the small business community to resources they need," Switala said. The workforce development board oversees employment and training programs in Dakota and Scott counties. It is a state leader in developing innovative programs administered through CareerForce locations in Burnsville, Shakopee and West St. Paul.
