BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley's top elected official took a cross country journey with the hope that the trip will make it a little easier to get around town.
Mayor Jesse Arreguín joined other East Bay elected officials on the trip lobbying for transportation and infrastructure funding.
He is seen in photographs posted on social media with Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-Oakland) Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, and U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein, among others.
Arreguín said he was in the nation's capital to lobby for the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Association of Bay Area Governments.
"This week I was in Washington DC to lobby on behalf of @MTCBATA and @ABAGSFBayArea for federal infrastructure and housing funds for the Bay Area," Arreguín tweeted.
"In addition to meeting with our Senators, I got to catch up with our courageous @RepBarbaraLee to update her on Berkeley projects."
