Coastal Vineyard Care Associates is searching for seasonal drivers to operate flatbed trucks. During harvest, the drivers will transport the grapes from the vineyards to the wineries. This position supports vineyards throughout Santa Barbara County and supplies wineries along the Central Coast. Trainings are given to new hires regarding forklift operation, loading/unloading cargo, Department of Transportation laws, regulations, and proper completion of paperwork. This role requires the ability to work varying schedule including days, nights, and occasional Saturdays.
Season of work ranges from late-August to mid-November.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Driver will be responsible for compliance in all DOT, State Regulations, and Company Safety and Compliance Policies.
• Driver must collect, fill out, and organize all required paperwork each day.
• Operate trucks and related vehicles/equipment in a safe, courteous manner.
• The use of hand tools and straps in the loading and unloading process.
• Complete a pre and post op inspection check list of the truck daily.
• Must have a valid Class C license.
Qualifications:
• Motor Vehicle Report must be in good standing.
• Clean drug screening DOT test
• Prior experience operating trucks, preferably in the wine industry, or performing similar type of work.
• Forklift experience.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Bilingual- preferred but not required
