Hello wedding videographers, I have a need, maybe you can help. My wife is having a baby in a few weeks, and I have several weddings that are in the 4-5 week window that it is going to happen. I’m looking for a backup shooter that can cover for me in the (unlikely) event that she starts labor sometime during or immediately before a wedding. My current plan, which could be amended, is this: one week before the wedding in question, if she has not given birth already, I will pay you an amount that will reserve you for the wedding. You will need to be in Santa Barbara the day of the wedding and ready to bounce to the venue ASAP (but I won’t need you unless I need you.) It’s possible that she could give birth during the preceding week, and in that case you’ll get that initial amount anyway. Then, in the (unlikely) case you do have to cover for me, I would pay you an hourly wage on top of the initial reserve payment. Hope that makes sense, let me know if unclear. The dates are 7/2, 7/9, 7/10, and 7/16. Let me know the dates you are interested in, what your reserve amount would be, and what your hourly wage would be.
