Description
Hey all, welcome to my post!
I've been writing an album on and off for a few years now (16 songs so far - subject to change). However, most of my music circles aren't interested in playing Punk/Alternative so I'm here looking for fellow enthusiasts of angsty sad upbeat music that can slow down when needed.
I have many influences but this project was mostly influenced by artists such as Bad Religion, Stiff Little Fingers, Green Day, The Offspring, and Jeff Rosenstock. I also have sprinkled in some Walk the Moon, Tool, John Mayer, and various Electronic influences as well. Lyrical themes vary from existialism and social issues to interpersonal struggles and loss - I have a few that are also more story driven toward the albums concept/story.
Ideally I'm thinking Drums, Bass, Guitar (me), and a utility player than can do Guitar and Keys - mainly cuz some songs would be better with just a rhythm guitar while others would greatly benefit from synthesis/sound design.
I'm pretty open to introducing styles/ideas to songs - so long as we stay rooted in some form of colorful Punk energy. I always thought it'd be cool if a band like The Killers were more Punk. The synths and ability to introduce different styles to punk has always been how I forsaw the genre moving forward and evolving musically.
I can send demos of songs to give an idea of where I've been writing from, although true chemistry unfolds in a jam in my opinion.
If this sounds good, email/text me and let's see!
