Before 2020, mental health challenges in our youth were on the rise, with approximately 1 in 5 developing a mental health condition in their lives. Since the onset of the pandemic, schools have seen an increase in mental health-related issues in children and adolescents. As an essential part of youth development and education experience in your school community, it is crucial to learn how to identify and help youth who may be struggling. Who should Attend? Mukwonago School District bus drivers, food service staff, paraprofessionals, office staff and volunteers should attend this educational workshop. Mental Health Awareness Workshop Includes: Overview of common Mental Health issues in children and adolescents.Identify Signs and Symptoms of presentation by different disciplines.How to engage, redirect and communicate with youth in conflict or crisis.De-escalation tips and tools.
