Job title: Nursery Worker Company Summary Contemporary Landscaping is a 17 acre nursery that specializes in growing 15, 25, and 95 gallon trees and palms. We grow our stock from seed, cutting, and air layer so we maintain plants at every stage. While most of our business is wholesale, we are open to retail as well. Hours of operation: M-F 7 am to 3:30 pm Location: Waimanalo Contact: Mark Fukui 3four3-4624 Job overview: The nursery worker is the core of the business and completes the tasks necessary to keep the nursery running. The work will be guided by a schedule from the manager and most of the tasks will be related to propagation: transplanting, pruning, fertilizing, and applying chemistry. Other less common tasks include making deliveries, loading and interacting with customers, fixing irrigation, and cutting grass. Core Responsibilities: • Nursery maintenance • Propagation: transplanting, air layering, making cuttings • Plant maintenance: pruning, fertilizing, staking, weeding etc. • Loading customers and making deliveries • Equipment maintenance Qualifications and Skills: • Treating others with respect • Perform work with safety as the top priority • Use good judgment in all situations • Follow a weekly schedule • Good attendance Pay and Benefits • Hourly based on experience • Company T-shirts • Paid federal holidays Requirements • Long pants • Steel toe shoes • Supply pruners and gloves • Ready to work at 7am
