Description
Ever wondered about urban agriculture in our climate zone? Ever wanted to grow your own food but not sure where to start? Do you know how to grow your own food but worry about the water consumption, especially as we are in a drought? Come speak with the experts that will explain what urban agriculture is, demonstrate what plants can be grown in Los Angeles, learn the rules for enjoying the ENDLESS ORCHARD in the public right-of-way, and which ones are most water conscious. We will also demonstrate how to use the harvest for sustenance and fun. The talk and garden tour will take place at City Hall East, the only Living Building in SoCal, in Santa Monica. You will get to walk through the edible garden and see how beautiful, and fruitful, it is as well as ask questions and maybe even take home some of the bounty. Come join USGBC-LA's Westside Branch Member group and speak with the experts that will explain what urban agriculture is, demonstrate how many different plants can be grown in Los Angeles and which ones are most water conscious.
