NEW YORK CITY — Beloved actor and all-around-nice-guy Tom Hanks apparently has a red line that a throng of New York City fans crossed: pushing his wife, Rita Wilson.
A video published by the New York Post shows Hanks angrily confronting fans who nearly knocked over Wilson while the pair walked to a car Wednesday evening.
"Back the f--- off!" Hanks shouted at fans, the video shows. "Knocking over my wife?"
Hanks has been promoting the biopic "Elvis," in which he portrays the legendary singer's longtime manager Colonel Tom Parker.
It's unclear if that's what brought Hanks and Wilson to New York City. But, regardless, fans knew the famed pair were in town.
The video shows them walk from a building through a group of fans, one of whom apparently got too close to Wilson, who trips up and nearly falls.
Hanks stops, turns around and shouts at the fans to back off.
Fair to say, the last time Hanks was this upset on camera over a Wilson was in "Castaway."
"Sorry about that, Tom," one person can be heard saying as Hanks walked toward a car.
