BOYLSTON, MA — A Boylston man is facing multiple charges after police say he tried to lure a child into his home on Wednesday afternoon in an attempted kidnapping.
Near 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, the 59-year-old man tried to convince the child to come inside his Mill Road home. The child was walking by when the incident happened, police said.
"After the juvenile refused to enter the home, the male suspect chase the juvenile down the road," Boylston police said in a news release.
The child was able to escape, and provided police with a description that led to the arrest of David Shays, police said. Shays was charged with enticing a child under 16, attempted kidnapping and assault. He was held on $15,000 bail at the Worcester police detention facility, police said.
