SILVER SPRING, VA — Montgomery County police detectives released surveillance video in connection with two burglaries that took place Friday in the Silver Spring area, according to a release. The first burglary occurred around 4:o2 a.m., at the Solaire Apartment Complex in the 8200 block of Georgia Ave. An investigation revealed that a man had used a rear door to gain access to the building. He then entered the mailroom and began loading packages in a cart, according to police. When an employee entered the mailroom, the suspect fled the scene through the rear door. In the second burglary, police say the same suspect used an unknown tool around 4:18 p.m., to enter the Clark Construction building site in the 8200 block of Dixon Avenue. He stole miscellaneous food and property, before leaving the site, according to authorities. Police described suspect as a Black man, standing about 6-feet-tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds. During the first burglary, the man was wearing a hooded jacket, baseball cap, blue jogging pants, and black shoes. At the Clark Construction building site, he appeared to be wearing a winter jacket of an unknown color, according to police.
