1 Injured In Electrical Fire At Overlook Medical Center

SUMMIT, NJ — An electrical fire took place at Overlook Medical Center in Summit at approximately 8:01 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Summit Chief Communications Officer Amy Cairns. The fire was located on the seventh floor of the hospital and was extinguished before Summit Fire Department arrived, Cairns wrote. There was one reported burn injury at the scene. The injured victim was rushed to Cooperman Barnabus Medical Center for further treatment. Crews worked to ventilate smoke conditions on the seventh floor, and Summit Police Department and Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad also responded to the fire. Summit Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Millburn, Springfield, and Union fire departments, according to Cairns.
