Description

Camilla aka Cami aka Cam-Cam is a 5-6 year old GSD mix in great physical health. She is spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Cami came to us with her step-brother Leo from a regrettable situation. They were both ‘outside’ dogs and suffered from neglect and isolation. They were kept in a 5x4 chain link pen without shelter in the elements and only had small kennels to sleep in. Her brother Leo was adopted a few months back but Cami is still waiting for her forever home nearly a year after being rescued, through no fault of her own. Even after the poor treatment she received from her first family, Cami just adores her foster-parents. She is GS that just loves her people so much. Cami is a super sweet and loving girl, she can play coy at first but will dramatically throw herself on the ground and roll over for belly rubs immediately (her favorite thing in the world) within minutes of meeting you. She's great with all other dogs and MOSTLY ignores the 2 cats in the home, but would be better in a home without cats. She loves to play fight with her foster siblings, loves walks, loves to cuddle beside you, and thinks every car ride is the adventure of her life. Her favorite thing is to go for rides. Cami adjusted quickly to being an 'inside' dog and is very calm and respectful in the house. She is trained to sit, lie down, go-to-bed, and she’s 100% house-trained and crate-trained. She will happily race to her crate on command for a much beloved bone or treat. She can be left in the home alone, she doesn’t chew and isn’t destructive in anyway. She's affectionate, approachable, and super intelligent. She’s happy to meet and greet new people, and she happily accepts treats from every delivery person she meets. She is protective of her home and family, basically anyone in the ‘pack’, but she isn’t aggressive at all. Cami acts as the mama-dog for the new puppies that are brought into the foster home, and she excels at it. She is a great teacher, loving yet firm, and allows the puppies to climb all over her and basically pester her at will. Cami would do best in a home with experienced GS owners. She’d be a fantastic companion for another dog or she’d be perfectly happy to be her human’s sole companion. Cami is honestly the best and only wants to please her human. Cami is currently being fostered at Spandow House Dog Rescue. Please contact Amy or Ian for info on Cami. /
