Beginners Band Anyone?

I am in my 40’s and a bass guitar beginner. I have been taking lessons for a few months and although I am advancing I feel that I am missing an important part of development, playing with others. So I’m looking for a group of people in my age range (give or take 10 years), who are also beginners and looking to jam and improve. I have a garage we can use but you would need to bring your stuff. I can also travel if someone has a better setup. Hopefully we can get guitar, drums and myself on bass (maybe a vocalist, I can sing but would rather focus on playing bass). Open to other instruments as well. I was looking on Craigslist for beginner bands to join but no luck so I decided to make this post. Anyone out there in the same boat?
