Greetings from the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula! The Historical Museum was one of the first places that I visited in Missoula after we moved here last year, so I was excited to be able to work here. As the Development and Communication Director, I get to be a part of almost everything that happens at the museum. I get to raise funds for amazing projects, like restoring our 99-year-old locomotive, the restoration of the WWII Alien Detention Center Barracks and other projects that help us educate, engage and inspire the residents of Missoula and Western MT. On the communication side, I love being able to tell people that Missoula County residents can visit the museum for free, our amazing grounds have 20 historic buildings on 32 acres and that we have amazing programs and events, like our upcoming Juneteenth celebration on June 19 and our 46th annual "Fourth at the Fort" celebration on July 4. But the best part is helping to tell the stories of Missoula County! History is amazing, and we can learn so much about our present and future by learning about our past. I hope everyone comes out to visit the museum soon!
