Opportunity: Monterey Museum of Art is seeking a self-driven candidate with facilities maintenance experience. This position will assist the Facilities Manager in maintaining the Museums three properties. Work schedule will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (6 hours/day) 7am- 1:30pm or 11:30pm -6pm ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Janitorial Services for Pacific and La Mirada location, maintaining cleanliness of the interior and exterior of properties Assisting with grounds maintenance at Perry Lane location Opening and Closing duties Occasional 24-hour weekend on call when Facilities Manager is unavailable Assists in workshop organization/utilization Assist in set up/break down of programming events, fundraising events, and exhibition openings. Other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager OTHER RESPONSIBILITES: Assists Curatorial Department with installation and deinstallation of exhibitions, to include patching, painting, and building exhibition furniture when needed. Assist with other departments when necessary General willingness to be helpful to entire staff so long as it does not interfere with regular duties GENERAL JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Must be able to meet expected daily tasks and be willing to adjust routine if the organization requires assistance with other tasks Must be able to work with and communicate effectively with a variety of personalities Must be capable of carrying out cleaning duties properly and with attention to detail Effectively identify facility needs and report issues to Facilities Manager QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Availability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. Have knowledge of general tools and equipment and ability to use safely Be comfortable with power tools and equipment and have knowledge of proper safety precautions. Willingness to be trained and learn new skills as required Be punctual and able to effectively meet deadlines Demonstrate good judgement and common sense Have a strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Ability to walk up three flights of stairs Ability to lift 45 lbs.
