Press release from the City of Charleston: June 14, 2022 This summer, the city of Charleston will host a virtual financial empowerment series for those in high school and college. This is the first time the program – 'Bank On Charleston Youth' – is being offered to the public. Through this program, the city, banking partners and local organizations will conduct four virtual workshops on varying personal finance topics. The goal of the series is to provide participants with a solid grounding in personal finance, including budgeting, creating a savings plan and establishing good credit. There will also be an incentive program that allows participants the chance to win prizes for practicing their financial skills. All workshops will be held virtually via Zoom from 9:30 – 11 a.m. on Fridays. Each week includes a different topic and a guest speaker. Zoom links will be provided following registration.
