Press release from the City of Jackson: June 15, 2022 Juneteenth Celebration/Fireworks Display On Saturday, the City will host a 3 on 3 Juneteenth basketball tournament named "Peace in the Streets – Think Twice and Save a Life." The first 30 teams (up to four players) are free of charge. Players and teams can sign up at 601-960-0471. The tournament is sponsored by M-Bar. WHAT: 3 on 3 Juneteenth Basketball Tournament WHEN: Saturday, June 18 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) WHO: City of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department WHERE: Pascagoula Street (Next to City Hall) There will be fireworks for Fourth of July On Wednesday, the City's Parks and Recreation Department announced it had obtained the necessary funding to put on the "Safe Summer Firework Extravaganza" to celebrate Independence Day.
