So like Jazz.. lotsa times the whole band plays almost the same notes for the HEAD. Then its solo time over the progression. Then you come together for the head again.. So like funk.. is a lot like Jazz. Play the head together.. think horn lines or funky bass lines.. then open it up. but probably the progressions are simpler and more rhythmic than in jazz. Can you emulate them pretty quickly? Interested in diving into a bunch more material like that.. be they covers or originals? Wouldn't be long before we'd have a ripping show together.
