Pleasanton Students Named TV30 'Outstanding Athletes'

PLEASANTON, CA — Fifteen athletes from Foothill and Amador Valley high schools were awarded Outstanding Student Athletes by TV30 at a Monday awards ceremony, which included Dublin Mayor Melissa Hernandez, Pleasanton Mayor Karla Brown and Livermore Mayor Bob Woerner; and Superintendents Chris Funk, David Haglund and Kelly Bowers. At the ceremony hosted by Ian Bartholomew and Tim Sbranti, Dublin High School Boys Basketball coach Tom Costello was awarded TV30's 2022 Outstanding Coach Award. Costello has coached basketball at Dublin High School since 2006. Since then, his teams have won 20 or more games seven times, and won numerous league titles. Earlier this year, Costello won his 300th game at Dublin High School. A total of 35 athletes from Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton also received personalized commendations from Rep. Eric Swalwell.
