Program Helps Bucks Seniors Stock Up On Fresh Produce

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Area Agency on Aging (BCAAA) is partnering with the state Department of Agriculture to again help seniors stock their pantries with fresh, locally-grown produce. Through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), eligible seniors can receive vouchers valued at $24 per eligible recipient. Vouchers are available through Sept. 30, or while supplies last, and can be used to purchase fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets. The program is open to eligible seniors who reside in Bucks County, will be 60 or older by the end of the year and meet annual income requirements. Income includes wages, rental income, Social Security, child support payments, retirement plan distributions, and other forms of income.
