Description
It will make very little difference to the environment if you drive a 45 mpg car or a 55 mpg car. The biggest gas waster is your right foot. When I am out and about, I see plenty of drivers accelerate rapidly, brake hard because they couldn't beat the light, and drive well over the speed limits. People drive 5 miles to buy one thing at a store, like a jar of pickles. They don't necessarily combine errands and take their time. My point: if people would drive with a bit more intelligence, keeping in mind they are paying double what they used to during the previous administration, that would have much more effect on the environment than driving a car that ekes out a few hundred more yards per gallon, especially the way many people drive. The more of a demand for higher mpg from the automakers, the more expensive the car generally becomes. Obama didn't do anybody any favors with his demand for higher gas mileage cars.
