Batavia student graduates from Grove City College Michelle Slone recently earned a degree from Grove CIty College on May 14, 2022. Slone earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts and is from Batavia. Slone was also named to the dean's list with distinction for the spring 2022 semester. Michelle is a 2018 home school graduate and is the daughter of Joseph and Patricia Slone. Students eligible for the Dean's List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean's List with Distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84 and for the Dean's List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0. — Merit Page News Local student graduates from Trine University Austin Lindell of Geneva completed the requirements for a degree from Trine University at the end of the spring 2022 semester. Newendyke, majoring in Elementary Education, was named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00. "The remarkable students achieving Chancellor's Honor Roll are among the best and brightest at the University of Mississippi," said Chancellor Glenn Boyce. "I commend them for their hard work and dedication resulting in their outstanding academic achievements and this well-deserved recognition." In order to be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester. — Merit Page News Student from Batavia graduates from University of New Hampshire Stephen Mrenna of Batavia, IL graduated from the University of New Hampshire over the weekend of May 20-22, 2022. He/she earned a bachelor's degree in marine, estuarine and freshwater biology.
