TUSCALOOSA, AL — An online fundraiser has been launched to help cover staggering medical expenses for the daughter of a Tuscaloosa-area radio legend. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts D.C. Daniel — co-host of the syndicated Steve & D.C. Morning Show on 95.3 The Bear and a friend of Tuscaloosa Patch — posted about the GoFundMe on Thursday after his 19-year-old daughter Bethany suffered multiple injuries in a car accident on Monday, resulting in accumulating medical bills in excess of $10,000. Daniel said his daughter is set to start college at Radford University in the fall, but medical expenses are now piling up, which prompted the fundraiser to help her avoid medical debt when starting school. The crash occurred on Interstate 95 in Doswell, Virginia on a dangerous stretch of interstate that Daniel said also claimed the life of a young man at the same mile marker in late May. As of the publication of this story, the GoFundMe launched on Wednesday had raised $25 from two donors toward its $5,000 goal. Click here to donate.
