Description

I'm a singer/songwriter/producer who retired from playing with major-name bands around the world 10 years ago, but am getting that "itch" to play out again. I also play rhythm/accent guitar, but am a bit rusty, after this hiatus. Should be back on my game after a few practices. I have tons of unreleased original material--just need the right people to make them work. My tenor voice is clean (some call it operatic) but ofttimes with added "gravel" for punk/rocknroll, and easily hits those high-ass notes, etc, but I'd also like to experiment with more soulful-sounding approaches. In need of a lead guitarist, drummer and bassist. It'd be nice to also have a multi-instrumentalist who can do horns, strings, and/or keyboards. Harmonizers a MAJOR plus. Extra plus: someone who can play Armenian Duduk--no joke! I have one but can't play it. My own influences, some of whom I'd played with: Stone Roses Blur/Gorillaz Happy Mondays James Echo and the Bunnymen The Church Love Spit Love Inspiral Carpets Michael Penn Most "classic rock" (I prefer Kinks and Who over Beatles and Stones. I know, sacrilege!) XTC Hum Poster Children Gin Blossoms Dead Hot Workshop Cracker The Ojays Smokey Johnny Nash Hypnagogic/Hauntology Uncle Tupelo/Wilco (not so much Son Volt) Bauhaus/Joy Division/Sisters of Mercy Looking for musicians in their late 20s-40s. Pro experience a plus, but mostly looking for fun, easy-going personalities. If you do drugs (I don't), please have them under control. I have a small recording studio, but not room for drums yet. Would be up for splitting a rehearsal space. Emails only, please.
