RE: Gas Prices

Description

It is true that when the price of gas increases, oil companies' profits increase. The reverse is also true: when the price of gas falls, so does the profit margin for the oil companies. The rise in gas prices is not from a desire of the oil companies' executives to line their pockets. Common knowledge shows that Biden hacked away at American oil companies ability to drill on Federal lands, shut down a pipeline while at the same time approving the pipeline that provided Russia with crude oil. This provided a means to fund Putin's war, which in turn prompted many countries to boycott Russian oil. Biden then begged our enemies to produce more oil. This ended the short period of time when America became energy independent (under the last administration). Then you have Biden's supply side crises that fueled (no pun intended) higher prices on everything. It all snowballs from there. You can't fault oil companies desire for profit. That is basic business. If you were in business, you would want a profit, too. The bigger the profit, the better, right? I'm not saying that I think it's OK for executives to line their pockets excessively. The laws of supply and demand hold true, and so this may keep things in check. So, don't ne so narrow minded.
