We have very sadly decided to rehome our 3 year old male Bernese Mountain Dog/ Border Collie mix Maverick. We have had him for almost 3 years, we got him from a rescue where he was there 6 months. We have battled through extreme separation anxiety, reactivness, and other behavioral problems, and we finally are at our breaking point... he is the absolute sweetest love when he's at home in his element surrounded by trusted individuals. New situations/people he is very anxious about and gets reactive at times. We do not have the means to pay for expensive training, we also do not have a yard for him to really run around in. He is very evidently bored, and will go through the trash, get food off counters etc when we are gone. He is potty trained, however we can never escape the occasional accident no matter what we do.. we love him so much, and he's been great with our two kids (5 years and 8 months) he just needs someone who has the means to train him, or has a yard he can run around in. Because we love him so dearly we are very hesitant to let him go, however it is what's best for him, and best for us at this point. He needs a family who is able to put the money or time into training him, as well as a yard so he's not cooped up in the house all day. If you have any questions about him we would be happy to answer them. We do not want him to go back into a shelter or a rescue as we feel this will only make him worse off. We are not asking for a rehoming fee as we just want him to go to the right family.
